Welcome to Ms. Travisano's 8th Grade Bilingual Class!
Hello! My name is Melody Travisano, and I am the grade 8 bilingual homeroom teacher at Polk Street School. I teach grade 8 ELA, social studies and science and grade 7 ELA. I grew up in a Cuban-American family and attended Penn State University where I attained a Bachelor's degree in journalism. I also hold a Master's in bilingual education from Fairleigh Dickinson University. I was a newspaper journalist for many years before becoming a teacher.
I am the proud mom of a son and a daughter and the world's cutest dog. I love traveling the world, exercising and the beach.
I am so excited about the 2023-24 school year. Our days will be filled with lots of learning, friendship and teamwork, all while becoming biliterate in English and Spanish.
